By George McCormick-Credits to the Forks Forum From the junction of state routes 112 and 113, it's 6.1 miles west
to Clallam Bay, where Vancouver Island, on a clear day, looms across the strait on the
northern horizon. Clallam Bay is dramatic as it sparkles in the sunlight - a jewel carved
from the rugged coastline - with Sekiu Point rising abruptly above its western end,
sheltering that community. The area is popular with hunters and fishermen. Wildlife photographers come because of the growing population of bald eagles and other wildlife. Hikers and nature lovers come to hike the miles of trails and beaches, and a number of scuba divers explore this part of the strait for its underwater beauty. The villages also have fishing resorts, marinas and retail support services. July 7-9
